Since the popularization of LLMs in 2023, they have been adopted for a variety of tasks, such as summarization, search relevance ranking, text generation, and many more. At the core, all of these tasks are powered by the LLM and the associated prompt. We have discovered that a well-written prompt drastically improves the performance of the LLM for that specific task. During this talk, Charlie will discuss Pinterest’s journey to consolidate its prompt engineering process into a single, unified platform, covering stages from ideation and testing to production workflow. Charlie will also share how we leveraged auto-prompting techniques to further reduce human costs and enhance the quality of the prompts.

The CI experience can be frustrating in large projects. Changes can generate many types of build and test failures, not to mention the background flakiness. Figuring out what went wrong requires navigating several UIs and large log files. We present “failure summaries”, which dramatically reduce the time needed to understand failures.
